ISLAMABAD: A suspected murderer wanted in the United Kingdom (UK) has been arrested during a raid conducted by Islamabad’s anti-human trafficking circle in Rawalpindi, ARY News reported on Sunday.

The suspected murderer, Baharat, was wanted by the British National Crime Agency (NCA) and was fleeing since 1995. Basharat had allegedly murdered an Asian citizen in Wales in May 1995.

He fled from the UK after murdering the Asian citizen and was declared a fugitive by the British police. After reaching Pakistan, Basharat changed his identity as Zameer Ali s/o Muhammad Aslam.

Quetta: Balochistan’s budget for the fiscal year 2022-23 will be presented in the provincial assembly on June 20, 2022, ARY News reported. 

According to details, the budget session of the Balochistan assembly has been summoned on June 20, 2022. The volume of the provincial budget is expected to be Rs600 billion.

Provincial Finance Minister Sardar Abdul Rehman Kehtran will present the budget in the assembly on Monday. A total of Rs350 billion has been allocated to complete ongoing projects and expenses.

Fianance Ministry sources say that the amount of provincial PSDP has been set at Rs250 billion. A total of 5000 jobs and solarization of government hospital has been recommended in the budget.

The budget session will commence at 4 pm on June 20, 2022.

FAISALABAD: ARY News reported that Faisalabad police registered a case after a woman was allegedly set on fire by her tenant after she resisted his attempt to rape her.

The case was lodged at Roshanwala police station on the complaint of the victim’s husband under five sections including attempted murder and rape.

The complainant stated in First Information Report (FIR) that he rushed to the house after hearing loud voices and witnessed the accused Atif. It stated that Atif had attacked his wife Natasha’s neck with glass and later he torched his wife after pouring petrol on her.

He added that his wounded wife told him that Atif also tried to rape her.

As per details, the incident took place in Dajkot area of Faisalabad, where a man, who is a tenant of the woman, tried to rape her after finding her alone in the home.

Meanwhile, the woman has been moved to Allied Hospital in critical condition due to her burn injuries.

KARACHI: A plane of a private airline suffered serious damage after a bird hit near Lahore airport on Saturday, ARY News reported. 

The flight PF-143 with 120 passengers on board was coming from Karachi to Lahore when a bird hit struck it.

However, the pilot of the aircraft successfully landed at Lahore airport. Subsequently, the technical staff after examining the condition of the aircraft grounded it.

It may be noted on Saturday, three flights were cancelled due to bird hit cases at Lahore and Karachi airports.

On August 2, last year, a Karachi-bound plane had conceded a bird strike soon after taking off and thus made an emergency landing without suffering any loss to passengers.

The plane suffered mechanical and bodily damage, sources familiar with the incident had said.
