TV and digital rights combined were sold at a whopping ₹48,390 crore at the auction that concluded on Tuesday. Out of this, ₹20,500 crore was for exclusive digital rights, and 23,575 crore for TV rights.
The media right auction for IPL this week generated ₹48.391 cr for BCCI. As per BCCI rules, 50% of the revenue, or about ₹24,195 crore will be shared with the 10 franchises over 5 years. Overall revenue has been rising, with the total sponsorship seeing a compound annual growth of 19%.

Broadcast heavyweights snapped up five-year media rights for the Indian Premier League (IPL) for a steep ₹48,390 crore at the electronic auction that concluded on Tuesday, a threefold increase from the last auction held five years ago.
The digital and television rights for 2023 to 2027 are expected to more than double the ₹16,348 crore ($2.09 billion) that Star India, now owned by Walt Disney, paid in 2017 for the rights through this year
