A fire broke out at a dental clinic in Anand Bazar area on Sunday. Panic prevailed in the area after the fire and traffic movement was stopped for some time.

Fire Brigade officials said that fire broke out in a dental clinic on Sunday evening. To douse the fire over 6,000 litres of water was used.

Officials said that the reason for the fire is unclear, but short-curcuit might be the reason behind the fire. The cause of the fire will be investigated.

Bhopal(Madhya Pradesh): A 30-year-old biker met with a road accident on link-road no-2 between 5 and 6 number stops around 1 am, on Sunday, said police. The youth, who was in an inebriated state, was driving back home on bike when he met with the fatal accident. Habibganj police station in-charge Bahan Singh told media that victim Anupam, a resident of Rohit Nagar Shahpura, worked at a private company.

The youth was excessively drunk and while negotiating a turn, his bike skidded off road. The youth fell from the bike and hit the divider and died on the spot. The police took him to JP hospital, where the doctors declared him dead. The body was handed to the family after post-mortem. In a short PM report, it was found that the victim was heavily drunk. The police have registered a case and started an investigation.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A mother of two children committed suicide by consuming poison because her in-laws demanded dowry, said Ratibad police here on Sunday.

Police station incharge Sudesh Tiwari said that Anita Patel (35) committed suicide on April 30 at her house in Barkhera-Nathu.

The police registered the case. During investigation, police came to know that husband of the victim Sunil Patel and his mother used to harass her over dowry. The mother-son threatened the victim that Sunil would marry another woman if she did not bring dowry.

Harassed by in-laws and husband, she committed suicide. The police have registered the case against the mother and the son for abetment of suicide. No arrest has been made so far.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Youth Congress (YC) has decided to boycott local body elections, as the Congress party has not given ticket to any of YC members, said its Bhopal district president Naresh Yadav while talking to media here on Sunday.

Members of the wing staged demonstration in front of MP Congress Committee office to express annoyance over ticket distribution.

“We are not puppets in the party who get thrashed and go to jail. Party leader Rahul Gandhi had decided that the party should give 30% tickets to YC. If the party does not change its mind by June 22, YC wing of Bhopal will not work for Congress,” Yadav said.

Earlier, state Congress president Kamal Nath took a meeting in which he asked all the Congress members to work with full energy to win the elections.
