Benelli has been regularly updating the prices of its motorcycles in 2022 and the Imperiale 400 is the latest to receive a price hike. The retro-styled motorcycle is dearer by Rs 4,000 and this is irrespective of the colour option. 

The Benelli Imperiale 400 in silver now costs Rs 2.09 lakh, while the red and black colours will set you back by Rs 2.14 lakh. 

This is the second time in two months that Benelli has raised the prices of the Imperiale 400; the last hike was of Rs 2,201 in March 2022. As before, there are no cosmetic or mechanical changes to the motorcycle.

Despite the price hike, the Imperiale 400 still undercuts the top-spec Royal Enfield Classic 350 (Rs 2.21 lakh). It also goes up against the Honda H'ness CB350, which starts at Rs 1.98 lakh and goes up to Rs 2.05 lakh for the Anniversary Edition.

Autocar India Says: The Hyundai i20 1.2 CVT is your best bet. It's extremely smooth to drive, is spacious and practical, and will overall feel like a proper upgrade from your Brio. Your other options are the Toyota Glanza, Maruti Baleno,Tata Altroz and the Honda Jazz, all of which have their strengths. However, the Maruti's and Toyota's AMT gearboxes aren't as smooth as the i20's, the Tata's engine isn't as nice or refined; and being the oldest, the Honda Jazz CVT doesn't feel as modern as its rivals.

Autocar India Says: Kia had recently updated the Seltos line-up in April 2022, giving it additional features, new colour options and some other changes. The heavily facelifted version is still some time away, so we'd suggest you go ahead with the car that's allotted to you.

I have booked the Vitara Brezza and its delivery is expected by June. Should I go ahead with it or wait for the all-new Maruti Brezza? I've heard that it gets a sunroof.

Autocar India Says: You're right, the upcoming Brezza will have a sunroof, as well as a host of other features, more premium-looking interiors and several other updates. It'll also get the 6-speed torque converter automatic that made its debut in the XL6 facelift. You should definitely change your booking for the newer, more premium version, which will launch in a few weeks from now.

I have a Ford EcoSport diesel and I'm looking to replace it with a diesel automatic compact SUV, priced under Rs 15 lakh. I checked out the Kia Sonet, but am not a big fan of its exterior design. Do I wait for the new Maruti Suzuki Brezza or the Hyundai Venue facelift, or do I go ahead with the Sonet? Dharamvir Nimbalkar

Autocar India says: As far as diesel auto compact SUVs are concerned, the options include Tata Nexon AMT, Mahindra XUV300 AMT and Kia Sonet AT. Among these, the Sonet is the nicest thanks to its smooth-shifting torque converter. The Sonet is a great car and we'd recommend giving it a longer, harder second look. The Brezza and Venue are unlikely to get a diesel-auto.
