New Delhi, April 17
Top leadership of the Army will carry out an extensive review of the security challenges along the borders with China and Pakistan and assess any possible implication of the Russia-Ukraine war at a five-day Commanders' conference beginning here tomorrow.
The conference will undertake analysis of capability voids to further focus on capability development and operational preparedness plans. It will assess threats in the entire spectrum of conflict. The discussions will focus on aspects pertaining to infrastructure development in border areas, modernisation through indigenisation and induction of niche technology.
Various agenda points sent by each of the regional commands will be deliberated upon by the senior commanders, apart from proposals concerning improving works, financial management, introducing e-vehicles and digitisation in the Army.
As part of the conference, meetings of the Boards of Governors of the Army Welfare Education Society and Army Group Insurance Fund will be organised. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is expected to interact with the senior commanders and address the conference on April 21.
