Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty’s Current Time TV reporters spoke to a father who said his two-year-old son was killed in Novi Petrivtsi, Ukraine, during Russian shelling on March 16. “I don’t know if there is a God. What is this all for? For what?” Shpak’s father, Oleh, asks Current Time reporters. “A two-year-old child who hasn’t experienced life yet. He died for nothing.” Current Time footage shows the family of Stepan Shpak at the site of their ruined home and at the funeral for the young boy. In the video, Shpak walks amid rubble and points out what was once his child’s bedroom, where he was sleeping at the time of the attack. “He wanted to sleep in his bed again and stayed there to sleep,” Shpak said, recalling the eerily calm, quiet morning of March 16, before an airstrike razed the building “to hell,” he said, according to translations provided by Current Time TV. “The little one was buried under the debris. When he was found, his heart was still beating. But by the time they got him to the ambulance, he was dead.” Credit: Current Time TV via Storyful
