The United Kingdom sent additional shipments of military aid to Kyiv on February 8-9, as the Russian buildup along Ukraine’s border showed no signs of slowing. According to the British embassy in Kyiv, the shipments sent on Tuesday and Wednesday included “bulletproof vests, helmets, boots, and other materiel, worth £5.2 million.” Earlier British shipments included weapons for the Ukrainian military. On Wednesday, British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss flew to Moscow to meet with her Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov. In a tweet, Truss said that she was there to “make clear that Russia must immediately withdraw its forces and respect Ukraine’s sovereignty or face severe consequences.” This footage, released by a TV station controlled by the Ukrainian military, shows the most recent shipment arriving in Kyiv. Ukraine’s defense minister, Oleksii Reznikov, tweeted, “Thanks to our partners for their unwavering political & diplomatic support & military assistance.” Credit: Ukraine Military TV via Storyful
