Shadow Immigration Minister Kristina Keneally says what an “extraordinary change of position” from Prime Minister Scott Morrison “playing politics again” with state borders. It comes as Mr Morrison has backed Premier Mark McGowan's decision to indefinitely delay the reopening of Western Australia’s border. “We’ve seen the Prime Minister play politics, attacking Labor Premiers but not saying a boo about Liberal Premiers who’ve got the exact same policies,” Ms Keneally told Sky News Australia. “I think enough of the border politics from the prime minister and when we focus on having a national approach from a national government - if we had a national government that acted in the national interest, we might have a better, more cohesive approach to this pandemic.” Ms Keneally said National Cabinet these days is nothing more than the premiers “turning up and telling the prime minister what they're going to do” and Mr Morrison announcing them the changes. “This is a prime minister who always wants a headline and doesn’t deliver a plan.”
