Police in Queensland released dramatic footage on April 4 as part of an appeal for information after a car was used in a series of smash-and-grab robberies in convenience stores in the early hours of that day. Police said the vehicle, a blue BMW sedan, had been stolen from a residence before being used in the thefts. “This vehicle was used to force the doors of a closed convenience store at Waterworks Road at Ashgrove around 2.30 am with property stolen from inside the premises,” police said. “Around 4.40 am the same vehicle was reversed into the doors of a Burleigh Waters convenience store at the intersection of Bermuda Street and Christine Avenue. Substantial damage was caused to the doors to gain entry. “A 64-year-old female manager was inside at the time cleaning the shop and preparing it for opening when the break and enter occurred. “The offenders threatened the manager before stealing cigarettes and fleeing the scene in the stolen vehicle.” Credit: Queensland Police via Storyful
