Anti-vaccine-mandate protesters supporting the “Freedom Convoy” remained on the streets of Ottawa, Ontario, on Friday, February 11, amid a state of emergency declared by Ontario Premier Doug Ford. The Ottawa Police Service reported they had made 25 arrests and issued more than 1,500 tickets as of Thursday during the ongoing protests. Footage posted by Caryma Sa’d on Friday shows scenes near Parliament Hill in Ottawa. Protesters involved in offshoots of the “Freedom Convoy” demonstrations that have centered on Ottawa continued to block US-Canada border crossings in Windsor, Ontario; Coutts, Alberta; and most recently, Emerson, Manitoba, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Manitoba said. On Friday, Ontario Superior Court’s chief justice Geoffrey B Morawetz ordered an end to the blockade at Windsor’s Ambassador Bridge, set to go into effect at 7 pm, local media reported. Approximately 50 vehicles remained involved in the blockade at Emerson as of Friday, according to RCMP Manitoba. Emergency and police vehicles, as well as some agriculture transports, have been passing through the blockade, which is otherwise closed to traffic. Credit: Caryma Sa’d via Storyful
