Opposition Leader Peter Dutton says the Liberal Party would have presented a plan to the Australian people to “clean up Labor’s inevitable mess” by the next federal election in 2025. “We won't be Labor-lite, we'll propose strong policy to make the lives of Australians better and to provide more security to them,” Mr Dutton said during his first media conference as Liberal leader on Monday. “Our policies will be squarely aimed at the forgotten Australians in the suburbs across regional Australia ... under my leadership the Liberal Party will be true to our values, that has seen us win successive elections over the course of the last quarter of a century. “Make no mistake, and Australians understand this, the next three years under Labor is going to be tough for the Australian people.” He said the newly elected Labor government is already “breaking promises and foreshadowing policy shifts” as they weren’t ready to govern the nation with their "inexperience" on display.
