A Ukrainian IT worker has begun driving refugees arriving at the train station in Lviv to the Polish border, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) reported. Roman Kalgin said he left his job in IT to help drive people fleeing Russian attacks, RFE said. “The people come broken, in tears. You need to calm them down and tell them everything is going to be OK,” Kalgin told RFE. “I was asked to pick up a woman from the railway station, and when I came, I saw what was going on there. It’s simply horrific. Words can’t describe it. I’ve never seen anything like it in my life. People were sitting there with small children. They were sleeping on the floor for two days. I couldn’t just pass them by. I decided to take some people in my vehicle, to take them to the nearest border crossing.” Kalgin said he’s been back many times, and tries to fit as many people in his van as possible each time. “More people should volunteer [to help]. Anyone who has a car can get involved. I urge everyone to get into their cars and help people,” Kalgin said. Credit: Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty via Storyful
