FULL INTERVIEW: Prime Minister Scott Morrison says he expects the same “blowtorch” be applied to his political opponents following his recent “brutal" outing at the National Press Club. In a wide-ranging exclusive interview with Sky News Australia host Paul Murray – Mr Morrison discussed his recent National Press Club address, reflected on the “personal attacks” he has endured and also revealed his plans for the nation as the next federal election nears. Mr Morrison said while his recent showing at the National Press Club was one of the more “brutal outings” at the forum, he accepted that was the nature of being there. "That’s okay, but I just expect them to apply the same blowtorch to my opponents and if they do that, fair enough.” Mr Morrison also said at the upcoming federal election, the country will “go in one of two directions”. “Strong economic management is more important now than it’s ever been – and we have the runs on the board here. “That is at stake – what else is at stake is the security of our nation and the safety of Australians. “I always put Australia first – I never take an each-way bet on national security.”
