‘Complete failure of character’: Liberal MP condemns alleged leaker of Berejiklian message
Liberal MP Jason Falinski says whoever leaked the alleged text messages between Gladys Berejiklian and a current Cabinet Minister has “failed a pretty fundamental character test”. It comes after Network Ten journalist Peter van Onselen revealed Ms Berejiklian had called Prime Minister Scott Morrison a “horrible, horrible person”. The former NSW Premier released a statement the same day in response, claiming she had no recollection of the exchange but supported the Prime Minister. “That is not what you do to another member of parliament, in this case, Gladys Berejiklian, that is not what you do to the prime minister of the country,” Mr Falinski told Sky News Australia. “And I think it is completely unfair and unjustified, and it says more about the person who leaked the text messages than it does about anyone else referred to in the text messages.” He said it shows a “complete failure of character” for someone to use “that moment of vulnerability” against another person.
