Sky News host Paul Murray says those who think this Australia Day felt different are "absolutely right". "If it feels like something has changed in the past few years, you're absolutely right," Mr Murray said. He said a survey by Roy Morgan reveals support for Australia Day is at 65 per cent, which is up by six per cent since last year. "Most Australians have exactly the same view that they did last year, about this particular day, yet it feels like something is changing before our very eyes and not because we, or the majority of Australians, want to change it." He said despite the majority of Australians supporting the day, a survey by Ipsos reveals 49 per cent believe the date will be changed in the next 10 years. "Brands themselves, as opposed to associating themselves with something 65 per cent of Australians are pro, they're being told by the industry to steer clear. "As it always works, the smallest group of people with the loudest possible voices - be it activism on the internet, or the radicalism that they get from a particular version of history from a university or a particular level of self-hatred that might come from Radio National each and every day, brands end up siding with the cool kids all the time, not the majority of people who actually buy their products."
