Albanese will be under ‘full-scale scrutiny’ due to playing ‘small-target game’

Sky News host Chris Smith says Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese has been playing a “small-target game” in the lead-up to the federal election. “He hasn't been under the same scrutiny as someone like the Prime Minister, who ... sections of the media have been riding and willing him out of office; that's been their hot story - there's less interest, of course, in who's new, ready to govern,” Mr Smith said. Mr Smith said on Sunday, Sky News host James Morrow posed a question to Mr Albanese during a press conference, asking “if a Labor Government was cracking down on multi-nationals - this is their new taxes policy - how much money would they recoup?" “But we didn't hear the answer to the actual question. No figure at all on what he'll recoup ... and Labor is yet to show us how they'll pay for their goodies in total - we don't have a fully costed rundown yet. “This will be dangerous territory for Labor because Albanese will be under full-scale scrutiny every morning, every lunchtime, every afternoon press conference and even at night.”
