Dear Angela: For the last seven years, I (42) spent three holidays a year in Malaga. The first time I went I saw this gorgeous local guy at the hotel bar. He bought me a drink then we started talking and we hit it off straight away. He was there every holiday and we always had a great time, with lots of fun and great sex. I thought he loved me, but when I rang him a few days ago he said that he can’t see me anymore. He confessed that he has a wife and a kid, and that he’s giving up his wild life for his family. I can’t accept that he’s been cheating on me all these years, and now he thinks he can end it all over a phone call. I want to go over to talk to him. Do you think I could win him back? Answer: You could probably win your holiday fling back, but you shouldn’t even try. You had some good times, but he has a wife and a kid, and you should respect his decision to become a better husband and father. I understand your need to confront him, but at least wait until you see him again on your next holiday — if you even want to go back to that place under the circumstances.
