Marine Corps Scout Snipers VS Army Snipers

The Army and Marines both have snipers, but they have more differences than you might think! The most obvious difference is the type of schooling they each go through. The Army school is about five weeks, while the Marines have to endure almost 12 weeks of schooling that is preceded by a three-week screener course. Marines appear to focus more on weeding people out who mentally and physically can’t make it as a sniper and a scout. Even if these Marines that drop out are excellent shooters, the Marines seem to prefer tougher, smarter troops over deadlier shots. Army training on the other hand, tends to focus much more on marksmanship than weeding out the weak. The difference between the two schools comes from the different mission sets. Marine snipers perform reconnaissance and sniping missions. They typically deploy on the battlefield alone in groups of up to four to scout ahead of the main force in addition to taking out targets. Army snipers tend to focus just on the shooting aspect of the job and make scouting a secondary mission set. #themilitaryshow
