Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday launched a blistering attack on Congress, accusing it of being responsible for the migrant crisis during the Covid-induced lockdown. Replying to the debate on Motion of Thanks to the President's address in the Lok Sabha, PM Modi charged that "the Congress crossed the limit", adding that "during the first wave, when we had lockdown, when WHO was advising that 'stay wherever you are'... the Congress at the Mumbai railway station gave tickets to labours to go and spread coronavirus". "You people pushed the labourers into difficulties," he said. The Prime Minister also slammed the Aam Aadmi Party government for forcing migrants to leave Delhi during the lockdown. Meanwhile, Rajya Sabha last week clocked 100 per cent productivity, with the Upper House making full use of the available time in the ongoing Budget session in the absence of any adjournments. The Budget Session of the Parliament commenced on January 31 with President Ram Nath Kovind's address. The first part of the Budget Session will end on February 11. The second part will take place from March 14 to April 8.
