Will Smith's relationship with wife Jada Pinkett Smith has been thrown into the spotlight following the Hollywood star's sensational meltdown at the Oscars over an ill-received joke made by comedian Chris Rock. The actor – who took out the top gong for his role in King Richard – stunned the world when he stormed the stage to slap comedian Chris Rock, before then verbally abusing him, after the comedian joked about his wife’s appearance. Mr Smith was emotional during his acceptance speech but was later seen unfazed and celebrating the win. Various commentators have weighed in on the cause of the issue – with some pointing to a more concerning undercurrent between Will and Jade. Fox News commentator Jesse Watters said it appeared as if Chris Rock was trying to hold back a retort, possibly about the open nature of his relationship with wife Jade, after being struck by the King Richard star. "If you watch the tape back, he was ready with something, but he decided not to drop it on him," Mr Watters said.
