Sardarpur (Madhya Pradesh): Social media overtook the by-election campaigns. Instead of using old methods like posters, pillars and banners for election advertisement, media apps like Facebook, WhatsApp and Twitter are the in-thing.

In the context of three-tier elections, candidates, their supporters and opponents are busy uploading campaign materials on their respective media handles. Whether it's a rally or election meeting, one can get respective information through social media.

On the other hand, voters are also creating separate voting groups to promote candidates of their supporting team. Not only this, voters are also sharing photos of streets, roads, street lights, and others with candidates by telling them, if you develop it, we will elect you.

At the same time, good and bad comments are also being exposed regarding the working of political parties. Also, candidates conduct house-to-house public meetings during the day and do the same at night via video calls.
