Navi Mumbai: More than 40 Shiv Sena workers booked for agitation in Kharghar

Navi Mumbai: Kharghar police booked around 40 workers of Shiv Sena for allegedly assembling and agitating despite the Navi Mumbai police have already issued prohibitory orders to maintain the law and order situation due to the current political scenario in the state.

Local Shiv Sena units had staged protests against the rebellion MLAs and burnt the effigy of Eknath Shinde.

The Navi Mumbai Police Commissioner had restrained protests, agitations and gatherings of more than five people to maintain the law and order situation.

Despite a prohibitory order was issued, the office bearers of Shiv Sena in Raigad district started agitation by burning effigy of Shinde and other MLAs who rebelled from Shiv Sena at Kharghar.

Later, the Kharghar police registered a case against 40 to 50 Shiv Sainiks, including Raigad district chief Shirish Gharat, who led the agitation, for violating the restraining order under section 188 of IPC and sections 135 and 37 (1) of the Maharashtra Police Act.
