Bhopal: Archdiocese, YMCA hold workshop on environment protection

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The Archdiocese of Bhopal in association with YMCA, Bairagarh, organised a workshop on environment protection and awareness at Seva Sadan in Tulsi Nagar in the city on Monday.

Archbishop AAS Durairaj, quoting Pope Francis, said that man and nature were inseparable friends and if man wanted to survive, then, environment protection was necessary. More efforts are needed to save water, soil, air from pollution. For this, he asked the participants to raise awareness among children and youth, he added.

Member of MP Pollution Control Board, Brajesh Sharma, inspired everyone to prevent pollution. He advised all to stop using plastic as the government banned single use of plastic and polythene from July 1.

Father Maria Stephen, PRO, conveyed the message of changing one's thought process to bring joy in the family, society and country. He assured the participants that workshop would motivate them to love and protect environment.

Boosy Roby, the coordinator of the programme, briefed about YMCA activities and invited all to participate in workshop. Akshay Dhanyabad, the president of YMCA, Bairagarh, and Sudhir Sharma, coordinator of PR office, proposed vote of thanks. In the end, everyone took a pledge to save environment.
