Central Catholic High School was initially founded in 1852 in downtown San Antonio of the time. Although it has gone through several name changes, it is one of the best examples of a true legacy. Given its rich history, it is no surprise that the school was voted as the Best Private School in San Antonio in this year’s Readers’ Choice Awards.

Originally a school for grades 6-12, Central Catholic became a high school in the 1950s and has remained that way. It’s an all-male high school rooted in tradition with a current roster of approximately 535 students.

The student population comprises approximately 78 unique zip codes across the San Antonio area and represents the best and brightest youth from around the city.

Many agree that being a part of the school has brought great joy to the lives of past and present students. Today, alums live throughout the nation, many doing great things from working within the Mars expedition program and designing the latest medical procedures.

Attending Central Catholic shapes these young men to become leaders out in the world, educating them in a way that they will find the balance they need to succeed. From academic prowess to generous community service programs, the staff and students live to simply follow and serve.

The school administration would like to thank the alumni, the community, and the faculty and staff’s dedication for making it possible to be voted as the best private school in San Antonio.
