Best Brunch in San Antonio: The Guenther House

The Guenther House has quite the background that all started in 1860 in the heart of San Antonio, near the San Antonio River, courtesy of Carl Hilmar Guenther. Their pride in their heritage shines through as they continue to be recognized as a valuable part of San Antonio in this year’s Readers’ Choice Awards for having the Best Brunch in the city.

Everything is made fresh daily, courtesy of the still going strong Pioneer Mill. Excellent service where you’re made to feel as though you’re a guest in someone’s home instead of just visiting a restaurant brings the Guenther House above the rest. In fact, many on staff have been there for years, making it feel more like visiting family. If there’s a wait, you can also wander around the property and glimpse what life must have been like before San Antonio became the bustling city it is now.

If you haven’t been to the Guenther House, it’s more than just a place to eat. It also contains a museum and store on the inside. They are all open to the public every day of the week. The museum is in what was once the house library and contains various keepsakes and other historical mementos.

Located in the famed and historic King William Historic District, it’s a fantastic experience that takes you back to another time – you don’t want to miss it!
