The world has been confronted with horrific images of atrocities against civilians allegedly committed by Russian forces in Ukraine. Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis says it’s clear Russian is carrying out crimes in Ukraine by deliberately attacking civilians and it should be called genocide. "We can find the courage and call it a genocide (because there is so much resemblance of the events of 20th centur that we thought belonged in the history books,” he told DW’s Sarah Kelly from Vilnius. Landbergis also said Russian President Vladimir Putin is likely to attack other countries if Russia is not defeated in Ukraine. “If Putinism, which is more than just one person, if it stays, that means that this country will be ready to deploy aggressive tactics and war against his neighbors again. And this cannot be allowed." How should western allies respond? As the EU debates the next round of sanctions, Lithuania has already moved to ban Russian energy imports. It has long urged a tougher line on Putin's Russia. How tough are allies willing to get now? And how far does he think Putin's war in Ukraine could go?
