Chris Cuomo roasted for seeking $125m off CNN: ‘What planet is this clown living on?’
Disgraced former anchor Chris Cuomo has been roasted online after it was revealed he is seeking $125 million in compensation and an apology from CNN following his termination from the network in December. CNN terminated Mr Cuomo after a report found he had been heavily involved in helping his brother – former governor Andrew Cuomo – with sexual harassment allegations made against him. His attorneys have now requested $15 million off CNN for terminating his contract which still had 19 months left on it and $110 on the grounds the network failed to “instruct CNN employees not to disparage Cuomo”. The filings allege CNN knew about Chris Cuomo’s involvement in his brother’s situation and assisted the governor as well. "In fact, as the limited information released from WarnerMedia's investigation makes clear, CNN's highest-level executives not only knew about Chris's involvement in helping his brother but also actively assisted the Governor, both through Chris and directly themselves,” the statement read. "As CNN has admitted, network standards were changed in a calculated decision to boost ratings. When those practices were called into question, Chris was made the scapegoat.” The embattled journalist copped criticism online for seeking compensation from his old employer. "Chris Cuomo is suing CNN for $125 million in damages claiming his termination hurt his journalist credibility. Seriously, all kidding aside, he had no journalistic credibility going in. What planet is this clown living on?” one person wrote.
